We are well pleased with his previous puppies out of Ian Orr's Appelrigg Heidi and our Astra Queen and Astra Jet
Chum is a real character, happy with life all the time.
A handsome dog with great work ethic. Though he can be very forceful when working stock.

Hip Score: both parents hip scored with very good hips.

CLOUD as a companion/pet
A super calm loving dog when on her own with humans, but displays jealous character when other dogs are around.
Fantastic "Off Switch". |
CLOUD as a working dog
Cloud is very natural, intense around her sheep, though she is not apposed to having the odd gripp through excitement.
When trained we expect her to be a good work dog and with luck maybe a trials dog. |
DNA "Carrier" for CEA therefore all puppies MUST be DNA tested if you are wanting to breed.

This will be Blue's first litter.
As his name implies he is a Blue Merle medium coated dog.
We are very excited to see the results and we are planing of keeping a puppy preferably female.
Blue belongs to our a good friend and lives in their house.
He has started his training on sheep and is showing promising progress.
Blue does not live with us and helps his owner on a smallholding.

Chete; his mother has excellent hips. |
PEDIGREE >
Blue's first time on sheep was a great success, he is confident and natural and though not fantastically stylish I believe that this will develop as his training progresses.

Tibby as a companion/pet
Tibby has the most adorable nature, she loves everyone, from babies to adults. She really loves people. she is very faithfully and willing to please.
This is her second litter. Her first being by Astra Hawk see here. |
Tibby as a working dog
Tibby had been abused prior to our owning her, hence her work on sheep can be erratic, sometimes stunning sometimes she give up if too much pressure is placed one her. She does not grip/bite sheep. She has plenty of power but lacks confidence to use it fearing retribution from the handler.
Tibby, is used by our Training clinic students on a regular basis as she will willingly work for anybody and soon gives them the understanding of the how to control a dog on sheep.
She is a very poplular schoolmaster. |

Breeding dogs is very often a frustrating business; there are never any guarantee's that you will even get puppies let alone great one's.
- The girls never come into season when you want them to.
- They never produce the right number of Males v Females
- They never produce the Colours everybody wants.
- The bitches tend to come into season in groups, therefore a tendancy of so many litters at one time.
However; for day to day management, it actually is easier, as we can justify the employment of a full time puppy carer and kidnap more children to play with the pups.
We have recently spent a great deal of time and effort on new puppy kennels with their own TV,s and different surfaces, and the landscaping of the outside puppy runs for more life enrichment and learning opportunities for the puppies.
